If Need Be

If Need Be

A Poem by Serena Clara

Hello,
It's good to meet you.

Yes, I have seen the guts and spills of all you entail,
but i have not met you yet.

I have never known you this way.

I would like to, but my shoulders creak with shadows,
pierced with light and loving faces;
understanding that they are angels.
Wishing we could meet them again.

But,

If need be, I will look into your eyes,
(once your eyes were my eyes when our eyes met.)
I will be a stranger once more.
But one that will not be one.

Unless I need be

i think this is pretty personal, not sure if the meaning can be determined by others that are not personally familiar with m situation. Would be interested to know.

Another very honest and somehow subtly brutal piece. The emotional detachment of something that was once all there was, the feeling of anxiousness and dissasifaction.
The attempt at fixing old wounds with new faces, repairing but for a different purpose.
Beautifully and very clearly done, i think the meaning is clear woven between your lines with an absoloutly beautiful rythm
