Plug Me In

Plug Me In

A Poem by Seraph

Their eyes pierce into my skin,
Tearing apart my fragile binds.
The ones that tie me down,
The ones that maybe are my life.

I see what hides behind their shadows,
It's something unexplained.
But when I search for my own,
What's found is far beyond sin.

They drag me by my chained up feet,
Then place the darkness in my eyes.
I'd walk the roads fully blind,
Blinded by words and cries.

They say your home is completely safe.
For a while I found this true.
It may keep out those foreign witches.
But never my demons too.

I feel like a robot, metal and cold,
Programmed to satisfy.
I know that soon enough for sure,
My batteries shall surely die.

What happens when an empty cell,
Is found among the crowd.
I should know for what does happen.
Left me in scars and doubts.

Now I take a healthy choice,
To wear a painted mask.
I may not be able to reflect myself,
But society took me back.
