Night Lover

Night Lover

A Poem by Seraph

I am not sitting here crying for you,

Nor for broken wings,

I instead am missing every fleeting moment,

When my smile meant everything.

Why am I left all alone

When the darkening sun does rise?

Why is beauty the only thing,

That lingers on your mind?

I am not a shiny toy,

For you to put away.

I want to be loved not hurt,

I don’t want to be thrown away.

But once again the moon does rise;

No clouds to cover me.

You reappear like the phantom you are,

Just to devour me.

Your snow kissed lips of poisonous love,

Leave no skin untouched.

I want to scream……I want to shout..

But for you this is never enough.

Finally the sun has come;

But again I awake to nothing.

You’ve disappeared not loving me.

But not without loving my body.

You’re now a drug in my bones,

Its addicting…those sweet lustful stings.

But yes I still cry for those moments,

When my smile meant everything….

Your tone in this is assertive at the start but we can see that sting you took has lingered and swollen in a way you can't ignore. It is never pleasant to miss someone who has meant so much to us, but do we must with integrity. Love hurts.

Indeed love hurts. More than most of us wish to admit.
I love this, it has a lot of meaning behind it. It describes how love isn't always real, it can be lust and mistaken as love.
