A Treasured Friend

As close as we were before
And have to cross the sea
To be with you, a day or more
That face of yours, I hope to see
With that, what could I wish for

I've said a lot of things
And hurt you in many ways
Yeah, I know it really stings
Believe me, I regretted those days
Well, I'm still flapping my wings
And can be as intricate as a maze

I have this fear
That one day I might lose you
But glad you're still here
And be able to greet you
On this special day to cheer
Let's start everything fresh and new

"Just know that I'll always be here
Whenever you feel blue"

I wrote this as simple as I could
To relay what this friendship means to me
And would treasure this for good
Til' the day you'd be wearing veil with glee
I'll be there with you as I stood
Smiling on the count of three
