Women who are not so happy with their body often look up to plastic surgeries and other corrective treatments to bring physical improvements to their body parts. Plastic surgery for breast augmentation is one such procedure that has become popular among women these days to make their breasts look firmer.

Although the process of plastic surgery for breast augmentation is safer as compared to other procedures, it is important to understand what all steps are involved in the plastic surgery procedure for breast augmentation. So, here is a list of things that you must be aware of before going under the knife.

Types of Implants: When it comes to breast augmentation, surgeons usually suggest two kinds of implants which are silicone and saline. Silicone has been quite popular for this kind of surgery for past years, but now a day’s saline is gaining popularity as a safe alternative to silicone. Silicone provides more real kind of breast augmentation but any kind of leak in the implant may lead to some serious health hazards as compared to its saline counterpart.

Anesthesia: You might not consider plastic surgery as a major surgery but still it is a medical procedure that involves anesthesia and the chances of risk will still be there. Now it’s up to the patient to decide whether they are ready to take any risk for plastic surgery especially at the early stage of life when the chances of developing complications due to anesthesia increase by twice the actual ones.

Physical Contact: Every surgery comes with its list of don’ts post-surgery that includes a time frame during which the area that has been operated should have minimal physical contact. In case of breast augmentation surgery that time can go up to by 1 month varying from case to case. Thus, talk all these things with your doctor beforehand to clear the air and know what all precautions you must have to take.

Complications Involved: While patients wish to have their plastic surgery a smooth procedure with no speed bumps or any complications, but unfortunately reality is different from what we wish for. Even breast augmentation plastic surgery comes with its share of complications that commonly include loss of sensitivity in the breasts or in the aureola, infection, minimal scaring, breast pain and occasional bleeding are other complications that a person might face. Thus it is important to follow the instructions provided by the surgeon without any fail to avoid the chances of possible complications.
