Found Lyrics

A Poem by Steffi Emeigh
"

Lyrics were found from different songs and placed together to make one poem.

"

Don’t you ever wonder when the light begins to fade?

Time can never break your heart, but it’ll take the pain away.

It was a big, big world,

But we thought we were bigger.

Everybody tells you, you should play the game,

But there’s only you to play.

I lost good friends under the spotlight.

Some I had to leave behind

And I’m still sorry, I tried.

All the memories we make will never change

Nothing is real,

Living is easy with your eyes closed.

So I set fire to the dream,

That if there’s no one beside you when your soul embarks

I will follow you into the dark.

So my heart will play the role

And act like it’s never been broke.

But everyone deserves a chance to walk with everyone else.

So let me go,

I don’t want to be your hero.

Interesting idea of combining lyrics from a bunch of different songs into one giant compilation. I've tried to do that before with all of my writing, but couldn't find any story to tell with it. I like the story you tell with this, and as a free-verse, it's fairly strong. Keep up the great work! :)
