The ExchangeA Poem by BlackroseThis is an odd feel for a love poem, yet one nonetheless. Enjoy!!!To give is to receive-- Tis a Life I Wish to See; A Dream of Renewal beyond my Beleifs, Giving me the hope I feared I'd never see.
It's a fountain of life in my ocean of dark, Lifting me up as my evil departs, Holding me deep within the clouds' stable arms, Letting me sleep as my soul lies unharmed.
Yet if I gived and would receive, Would the expectation be greater than it seemed? Could I survive within life's brutal wings? Covered by unjustice, cloaked by misdeeds? Will I be stalked by the latent regret? Shadowed by Mistake's rasping breath? I Bringer of uncertain mistrust? Will this gift be brought to the dust?
I fear for the evil that is brought from my soul, That ocean of darkness that I plead you don't know. Yet alone I cannot defeat the deep rot inside. Alone, I know, without your aid, I surely would die.
So might I try to give to you now? Give you my love, oh savior reknown? Might I try to Grace you with a heart, darkness hidden? Might I rest again within your arms, evil ridden? © 2011 BlackroseAuthor's Note
