Origami Ghosts~

Origami Ghosts~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

It was an any other day kind of day

for an origami girl

except

that the birds made nests in my clavicles

and the ginger cat couldn’t find my bones or skin

to rub his body against

my nursemaid walked through my petticoats

calling my name

leaving consonants and vowels tapping

against my boots

and the sun pushed the hair out of my eyes

to fragment a stained glass window

not next to me

but through me

paint pulled itself from the threads of my sleeves

dripped in multi red shades

and globules

peppering wolf’s body blending through my see through boots

the woodsman swinging his axe with manly abandon

the cocoa mug sat heavy in my palm

not yet knowing

it was being held

by a ghost

as the birds went about

making plush nests

in my secret

origami clavicles

The thing about your poetry is how easily I am able to see the surreal images: that's your gift as a writer, and it is no mean feat, to present totally new images to the reader's eye and let them see.

I was immediately hooked by the title (which is terrific, by the way) and was not disappointed. This is a wispy, hypnotic piece that embraces the surreal... and I love it.

This is lovely; I saw what you wrote and I like to be able to do that. The image was strong and clear and I was impressed. I love how you used the idea of a ghost; made it much more interesting to read. Well done. I loved it.

Great imagery and use of diction, but the syntax is a tad off. I can't tell if it's the line length or patterning, but overall good job! Keep up the writing!

Origami girl...Fragile human living in the world of paper and words. Bendable, crumpled sometimes. A good poet makes the reader see her, and makes the reader see herself in the words. I am in awe.

This resonates a deep moan reverberating through to the core. We, in theory, are ghosts waiting for our time to lift the veils and see things as they appear, unrefined with no beauty secrets. It is a rare bird to have the ability to see clearly at this stage of life. Seeing scars and all and knowing the outcome before it is a solid. Wonderfully written kitten.

it's as though you take our hand and walk us stone by stone over a flowing creek of surreal plasma, guiding the footsteps lest we slip and become lost in the swirling mass of impossibiity

It's a pleasure to read such vivid and colourful poetry. The imagery permeates and keeps the reader riveted emotionally and visually. Another splendid piece.

Each time you write you create something remarkable. How you personally position and make words bow to you is magical!
