Origami Ghosts~

Origami Ghosts~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

It was an any other day kind of day

for an origami girl

except

that the birds made nests in my clavicles

and the ginger cat couldn’t find my bones or skin

to rub his body against

my nursemaid walked through my petticoats

calling my name

leaving consonants and vowels tapping

against my boots

and the sun pushed the hair out of my eyes

to fragment a stained glass window

not next to me

but through me

paint pulled itself from the threads of my sleeves

dripped in multi red shades

and globules

peppering wolf’s body blending through my see through boots

the woodsman swinging his axe with manly abandon

the cocoa mug sat heavy in my palm

not yet knowing

it was being held

by a ghost

as the birds went about

making plush nests

in my secret

origami clavicles

The thing about your poetry is how easily I am able to see the surreal images: that's your gift as a writer, and it is no mean feat, to present totally new images to the reader's eye and let them see.

dripped in multi red shades

your writing is so good it gives me chills when I read it.

"my nursemaid walked through my petticoats

that line is killer! i can just imagine a beautiful and eccentric artist or poet lounging in their self-made world of strange objects and rare beauty. full of imagery that creates a dream-like world. well done!

You literally take the beauty and dazzle of the world into yourself sweetheart! I have loved your work for so long now and yet...there is always a surprise still in each piece! Never turns where you think it will but instead carries the reader away to places they never knew existed...your imagination is a fire of bright horizons love! xoxo

Surreal and stellar. The last stanza says it all.

like the folds in a paper apparition, you bend at just the write places, folding fantasy with phantasm and satin, with silky milieu..

in me you spire, higher than sum added in mire, always gorge just, sweet abyss, ever after, worded kiss..

You always have a wonderful cadence about nothing, and a part of me feels like it's commerical beyond belief, but I guess you can't please everyone.

There is always a calculated abandon in your work that is special. Literary masturbation or art, I'm guilty of the same.

So I'm not psychotic? It's just my 9 alter-egos that are having deja vu. Thank you Dr. Kitty Kutabare. I feel much better now. I can't explain how much I really enjoy your work. It's out of this world.

The fragile and colorful picture you painted in my mind's eye was utterly amazing! xo

You use lots of beautiful imagery; it's very skillful, and not overdone. I even like your author's note, especially the "nine times thrice and back again" part. You have such a flair for language. Gorgeous write!!
