Tesla's Coiled Girl~

Tesla's Coiled Girl~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I’m a gonna stuff all my magik

into this ladybug suitcase

hitch a ride on an electrical impulse

back to ‘43

to coil up with Tesla

on his death bead

rasp

kiss his last gasp . . . .

       in the last breath

              where mysteries are born

                              here is one, my poppets

teleforce

was never

a manifestable theory

teleforce

exists

only

inside

the destructive human species

that’s what he says

crunching dreams in an ice cube

his metaphysical ramblings

at the end

of the cyclical dreamsickle

where there’s a hard lesson

somewhere

we’ve yet to learn

if ever

or so he says

smiling in a floating hotel suite

body like an old book

ashes to ashes

dust in my ladybug suitcase

Tesla’s coil

snapping the divisions

and the lightning is white and soft like butter

my magik in my ladybug suitcase

making flesh things

on the ride

home

to underland

First of all, Tesla was a very intriguing character. Wound around your surreal ladybug fluttering the shimmering is positively electric. This is a little off your normal path, a path less followed, but a necessary and riveting path. The contrast of the ladybug to Tesla's death ray is fascinating. Man is the only animal that seems to delight in bringing down his fellow man and in great numbers. Law of the jungle is more merciful than law of man.

tesla... such a worthy subject. it disturbs me sometimes that science (discovery, pioneering, examination, creation) and poetry are so seldom connected.
the delicate beauty of his coils, of his lighter than air vision...
and bringing him down to flesh and bone:
smiling in a floating hotel suite

body like an old book

ashes to ashes

dust in my ladybug suitcase

... i didn't think it was possible to admire you more... silly me.

Wow. Right away this takes the reader on a fast-paced magical ride and continues to produce ideas as well as the imagery in the glimpse of the writer's imagination. Nice touch with the ladybug suitcase, I loved it. I can admire this, you certainly have some admirable talent in your arts. Brilliant.

Oh I love the ladybug suitcase! That is such a charming image, and the whole set up to the poem is amazing: the deathbed scene.
'teleforce exists only on the inside...' Huge ideas delicately rendered.

I'm a like the way you catch the electric impulse and ride it back in time.... tying in the ladybug suitcase is so you and the wording in this piece is very effective.... nicely penned and brilliantly executed!

Loved the idea of you transporting on an electrical impulse to Teslas hotel room to be there at the end with a coil up and kiss, and the thought of of crunching ice cube dreams.
Cyclical dreamsickle- Two words holding a universe within
Loved... the idea of his floating in an hotel room and your comparison to him as an old book
Your last line about making flesh of things on the journey to the underland is brilliant.
The whole poems speaks to me of your interest and care for others, and if you will pardon the electrical pun..carrying your torch like a light in a dark world for others.
Personally I admire and have a soft spot for Tesla, his ocd obsession with number three, and his last years being visited by a white pigeon. He lived to a grand old age, refused to give up his dreams for money, I love eccentrics, celibates and people who have curiousity and enthusiasm. Thanks for this I loved it.

Tesla is a relative of my son-in-law so we have always been interested in him as a scientist and a person. You are the master of vision and have outdone yourself with this one! Kissing his last rasp indeed! Ghoulishly, kittenish! A Halloween poem I presume?

There is no one like you.

I'm back (one post explains, mostly, my disappearance) the rest is back to poem weaving..

I like the fact that you brought science into your poetry. I like the use of short prose.
