Tesla's Coiled Girl~

Tesla's Coiled Girl~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I’m a gonna stuff all my magik

into this ladybug suitcase

hitch a ride on an electrical impulse

back to ‘43

to coil up with Tesla

on his death bead

rasp

kiss his last gasp . . . .

       in the last breath

              where mysteries are born

                              here is one, my poppets

teleforce

was never

a manifestable theory

teleforce

exists

only

inside

the destructive human species

that’s what he says

crunching dreams in an ice cube

his metaphysical ramblings

at the end

of the cyclical dreamsickle

where there’s a hard lesson

somewhere

we’ve yet to learn

if ever

or so he says

smiling in a floating hotel suite

body like an old book

ashes to ashes

dust in my ladybug suitcase

Tesla’s coil

snapping the divisions

and the lightning is white and soft like butter

my magik in my ladybug suitcase

making flesh things

on the ride

home

to underland

First of all, Tesla was a very intriguing character. Wound around your surreal ladybug fluttering the shimmering is positively electric. This is a little off your normal path, a path less followed, but a necessary and riveting path. The contrast of the ladybug to Tesla's death ray is fascinating. Man is the only animal that seems to delight in bringing down his fellow man and in great numbers. Law of the jungle is more merciful than law of man.

This is a wonderfully written piece of poetry. I have to say though, the imagery of kissing a dead man and lying in his bed kind of freaked me out. But besides that, the rest of the imagery is so much like a dream I don't want to wake up from!

Somewhere in your words I am reminded of the time my father (he was a chemist) brought home a van de Graaff generator. I used it to make my hair stand up on ends, but my brother used it to charge himself up and deliver whacking shocks to us.

You may want to kiss the gasp that will exit everyone's through when I admit this blunder:
I was not familiar with Tesla before this poem. *Gasp!* But I am not afraid to research anything I do not understand. Doing so brightens every work. Sends a flash of light to crevasses that were so dark and damp before. Interesting that I do not learn about him during my history lessons in school. Such an integral being to modern society. Why do I only remember Thomas Edison? Still. Tesla's wisdom far extended science of electrical currents and wave patterns. He understood the science of man. But do we? I think I'll stick with what's easier: science's evolving rather than man's devolving.

your writing is a silken treat as powerful as it is soft. Such a joy to read you, always.

Awesome!

You do the great genius of Nikola Tesla a great honor. He gave us so much and at his end, we gave him so little.

I love your scientific and human expression of how man has taken his gift and perverted it.

A master of words can steal a tire mind to a good place. You did. This poem was beautiful. The words twisted a tale leaving me wishing to read more. Thank you for the amazing poetry.
