Unearthing Sleeping Beauty~~

Unearthing Sleeping Beauty~~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I would be the flower

in the cracked earth of your skin

a parasol of firefly fluorescence against the sun’s contrails

a lighthouse on a dry shore, weeping light

for bones scattered, a pentagram sea floor for Venus

a garden of coral host to a gypsy girl

picking scales out of an eel’s disharmony

runes tattooed on my eyelids

“Don’t close them!” the men cry

Sometimes, legends are best kept buried in old tomes

brittle and too dry to unfold

But I  will blink

and every flutter has been written to shake the world

And when I sleep

I will be the flower

in the cracked earth of your skin

the rain that forgot

which way to fall

an artists inspiration comes from places deep with in , places where meaning awaits , places we must explore . loved the 'runes tattoed upon your eyelids ' as each blink of yours unveils perspective in a language that unfolds before our eyes , our mind's eye brought into surreal focus .

and there is the gift , shared . where our travels through tangential time and entangled space , react and interact , shell puzzle pieces along the sands of existence where a lotus awaits to bloom in lavender light .

yes , you inspire ~

The whole poem shines, but its those final two lines, love, that are the beautiful killers that make it so much more.

And when I sleep

I will be the flower

in the cracked earth of your skin

the rain that forgot

which way to fall

my skin shivers in the circulation and anatomy of this piece...utter brilliance to just be surreal in one of your word dreams..

the rain that forgot

this closing melts my sensory perceptions. A write that melts fob watches in surreal landscapes.... :)

oh now if this isn't a line plucked from the depths of selene-ville haha - "I will be the flower
in the cracked earth of your skin
the rain that forgot
which way to fall" - that last - rain that forgot which way to fall is just brilliantly poetic in concept and statement! what a thought! the surreality drips through - loved it!

I have to agree with David here. There is a patterned complex system in those seemingly simple double lines that begin and come close to closing this poem. How each of us interprets it is highly personal and individualistic.

I will be the flower

in the cracked earth of your skin

the rain that forgot

which way to fall

These last for lines contain an emotional impact so subtle, the reader has to be highly attuned to their personal interactions with feeling to grasp it. You outdo yourself every time. This has to be one of my favorites from you.

I love how this begins. simply, and almost mundanely a flower in the cracked earth of your skin. BUT, this simple image became facets in my mind. Old, dry, cracked earth, decaying further as weeds grow in the cracks, but on these weeds, sprout beauty. Such a complex image hidden inside what seems to be the simplest line in this poem. And then it blossoms... And here comes Seleney with the big guns! Runes on the eyelids fluttering and shaking the world. Almost biographical, but it should be runes tatooed on your fingertips shaking the woirld as you type. Just saying. And then the last phrase, the rain that forgot which way to fall. smile

Your voice weaves music through every word. And we're bowed on the shores of your beautiful soul.
