Apocalypto On A BlueBird Kind Of Sunday Morning~

Apocalypto On A BlueBird Kind Of Sunday Morning~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I do not want these eyes

anymore

I want to be all lids

shuttered

blinds

eyelash threads

over under

in black silk

through the cheeks

I am a fossil

no one will be left

to explore

Even the most obscure

bones

found a place in history

Do you understand

we did this

to ourselves?

If thine eyes offend thee

pluck them out

At the window

a blind girl waits;

fingertips play a melody

close

open

up

down

the blinds

comply

The bluebird

becomes

a defective pheonix

Sunday

the churches

are all empty

Best stanza:
"At the window
a blind girl waits;
fingertips play a melody
close
open
up
down
the blinds
comply"

When the world fails us, we fail to continue caring. Aren't we all the blind girl...looking for one minor facet in which we can effect change? Beautiful!

sometimes what I spy with my mind's eye makes me sigh too ...

and as for religion -
someone once asked me why I always veered off the trail , eschewing the blazed , worn , path for wandering through undergrowth . I told them I know my path , there are other things to see ...

my 'church' is pine scented and overlooks the ocean ;)

"eyelash threads/over under/in black silk/through the cheeks". This was such a marvelous image. I kept getting pictures of Hindu style weaving across the face-- wonderful.
"Sunday/the churches/are all empty". Loved that stanza. I'm glad someone else understands religion like I do-- as the waste of the world. They shall cease to pray when blisters rise on the bruises of back-handed newborns. Bravo, Selene.

it must be something in the water, or the air, or somewhere; or maybe, transition is the hardest part...anyway, i think mother earth can handle it, and maybe having a god wasn't such a good idea

The path we have chosen will lead to this in my opinion. I love that saying pluck out your eyes but I am not ready to go that far yet I like vision too much, but I don't always like what I see with my eyes so symbolically I understand this. Our lives affect this planet and the natural beauty and balance of it. We are not perfect and we are making our planet not perfect in the end the planet will be here but maybe we wont. Strong write, simple and to the point.
