Best stanza:
"At the window
a blind girl waits;
fingertips play a melody
close
open
up
down
the blinds
comply"
When the world fails us, we fail to continue caring. Aren't we all the blind girl...looking for one minor facet in which we can effect change? Beautiful!
We have either become blind or so distracted by the trivial things going on around us that we have forgotten what is truly important..........just my take. Wonderful piece!
i'm gonna like a more obscure line! ('cause that's what I do!)
I am a fossil
no one will be left
to explore
to me that is the meat of this piece (sorry to use meat metaphor on a vegan, I'm pretty sure it doesn't count against you)
And I feel that way most of the time. And you can yell and you can shout if you want, but it doesn't seem to come to anything, ever. Frustrating, and sad.
(oh I did like the melody of the blinds (and the play on words there) but I can't be that mainstream!
Oh the blinders...I wonder sometimes if we are all not deff, dumb, and blind...It seems that most of those who see, will not speak up, and most of those who speak, will not listen, while most of those who hear, hear only what they want...
I dont know why, but this just gives me a larger fear of blindness. But this was a great poem, so down to earth its practically six feet under. I loved it! 'If thine eyes offend thee pluck them out.' Is my favorite stanza since everyone seems to be doing their favs. heehee.
I have seen the light fade from the passionate human's eye into an apathetic pool of nothingness. Trouble is, the people who are sensitive and do give a rats patootie can still feel the trouble thats been brewing in paradise. Eyes or no eyes, we still feel it. A horrendous, guttural ache that resonates throughout the Earth and out of the pours of every living thing. =(
Dissatisfaction with humanity's a killer. Apathy, disdain, living just waiting to die. This happens after ceaseless effort to damn the self destructive tides of self annihilation and realizing the lemmings are programmed to aim for the cliff.
It is true what they say, ignorance is bliss... we just never appreciate it as a child... once the Pandora box to the real world is open it can never be closed.
