Fresh Water~

Fresh Water~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

My pearls

Broken in fresh water

Shells cracked open between the palms of a hungry man

He’s been at sea forevermore

Storms live in his gray eyes

Now he walks fresh water shores

In muddy boots

His soul as clean as undiscovered coral beds

I am happy to be

The pearl in his pocket

A memory in a brooch at his daughter’s throat

Above lace dreams

Her grip on the boat

Tight

She laughs

My mood ring bauble

Flexing

Blues

Under a sky bleeding topaz rain

As Leon Redbone taps his shoes against an old radio

Floating in fresh water

By a shoreline filled with pearls

You write some of the most beautiful scenes and images that I have seen. This makes me think of so many stories of life that this could fit into. One part of thought of marriage and a father giving his daughter away. I always love how your words flow into the surreal of life.

There is something almost of the folk tale, which has captured me as I read this narrative - the quintessential story-teller's art is yours, and your voice strikes to the heart.

He’s been at sea forevermore
Storms live in his gray eyes
Now he walks fresh water shores
In muddy boots
His soul as clean as undiscovered coral beds...

The taint of melancholy quickly gave way to quiet appreciation for a gifted take on life. To be able to share such peaceful tranquility while enjoying the ride and tender company is an experience to cherish.

Oh how I do love listening to artists with voices like slow rising sky-bound souls. They can't help but steal the heart of a young purest's soul. And your surrealist swirl of the sea compliments with the smooth crispness of a Pinot Noir. Cheers, my dovely.
