Girl Babylon~

Girl Babylon~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~one of those uneven nights~

"

Now

That you’ve coaxed me from my shell

What will you do

With a girl

Whose arms unfold into eight distinct notes

Plucking atomic love from the nucleus of matter

And does it matter

How I bend my music to the will of the tides

While a cat’s cradle undulates by

With the threads of a modern day Moses

Who will one day find his mind inside a bottle

Of hard liquor

At the end of skid row

In tow

To his holy insanity

A Madonna dipped in hemlock

Following the pound of his staff

Against the eventide of endz

Blaring through the windows of dirty love

Commercials for extenz

Tipped the top hat of reason

To good ol’ Abe Lincoln rolling over in his grave

A stage in his eyes

Reflecting silk

Spinners pouring

Through the edges of his coffin

While I while away the underbelly of this final grace

My Thai limbs drenched in gold

Thighs around the sorrel belly of the sky

Eight arms in rubies wrapped around the waist

Of Wounded Knee

Atop, the Mesa at the third pluck of the string

A third eye in jade opens

On the Book of Revelations

From my mouth, glitter and confetti

From my palms, the open wounds of misrepresentation

My dance begins on a cloud

The Hopi Nation go about their day

Kachina dolls at eight points

Bodies pour out of a sandstorm

On knees

With locust eyes

Dust lies

I dance

Kali at my hip in steel

Pandora in my belly

Lilith in my sway

The w***e in my smile

Giving good word. . . .

“As ye think shall ye be” . . . .

And the corona of the sun flares

Burning words

Against the struggling atmosphere

MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH

Now that you’ve coaxed

A thousand of us from our shells

What will you do

With the messengers

Killing the beautiful delivery

Does not make the message vanish

Now does it

Only leaves another stain of Cain

On the patchwork soul of Man

I wonder at times how such a tiny girl like you can harbor so much soul.

My Thai limbs drenched in gold
Thighs around the sorrel belly of the sky
Eight arms in rubies wrapped around the waist
Of Wounded Knee
Atop, the Mesa at the third pluck of the string
A third eye in jade opens
On the Book of Revelations
From my mouth glitter and confetti
From my palms the open wounds of misrepresentation
My dance begins on a cloud

You're Pandora's Box, my lovely woman.

your thoughts take us from the beginning of time and through the worldly history of mankind...it is a reality that brings us to date and still the message is the same...

Yes, this is poetic melody at its best, but it is also, if one reads with the hunger of a human soul, a time capsule of a very sad history of extinction self inflicted and well deserved...

you are always beyond amazing, friend.

The patchwork of soul...a texture woven with utmost dexterity of the needle...minor dripping of blood and oh the pleasure is intense!

History and spirituality shaken and stirred... what a potent elixir. I will choose you as my poetic bartender any time...

I love poetry with history and purpose. You have both in this poem. Some ancient mysteries still can create interest and great story. Girl Babylon open the doors to many subject and ideas. I wish I had more time to read more ancient history written in other places and their thoughts on history and life. Sometime we are one-sided on views. The poem could be discussed for hours. Thank you for the amazing poem. I do appreciate.

This is why I read poetry...this is why I read your poetry.
Those words are like a nice sip of Tia Maria..their flavor circles around my brain in the same fashion...love the poem...glad I had the chance to stop by.

What men have done in order to control and be on top sometimes I feel will never be undone. Yes the third eye is open but in the palms are all the misrepresentations and like a scroll the truth is reviled and men try to hide behind the buildings of their creations but one can not hide from the soul or the spirit for their is no hidden spaces in that realm. We will always try to bring women out of their shell but then what we get in return is never what we expected because we to quickly forget the past and only think of now.

With each poem and word you scribe I gain a new meaning of your soul

I have sideways days and you have uneven nights, I suppose it is the same Muse, but yours has so much more to say . . .

Those last few lines really drive the message home

A sadly beautiful piece worth reading over and
over again until every read has one true meaning.
Nice.....
