Caution:Do Not OverSaturate~

Caution:Do Not OverSaturate~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~a sigh is rarely just a sigh, ain't that so~

"

I never promised

you

a rose garden

The violets have grown wild

and the roses bend

to the voracious spirit

of the mud

coating ruby red

and poignant pinks

with rich

dark soil

I am just another little mother

with a thousand pinpoints of pain

thorns

for each stumble

the child takes

We wear them well

don't we

little mothers?

and yet

The children sometimes forget

that we have bled the same  blood

and watered our ash

with the same tears

tripped across the brambles

in the same sort of wild gardens

There is now a sign

rooted

at the entrance to my heart

where love

is unconditional

but no longer foolish

no longer pressed with guilt;

Caution:Do Not OverSaturate

I love this stanza though you are never just a mother... I lost mine four years ago but know I wouldn't be the man I am today with out her guidance and example of how to be. It is a vicious cycle how kids don't appreciate the parents till later on in life.

It is a great day, when we get to that age when we realize that our parents were right. We see that fine rose garden, and we look at our mother with disbelief as she tells us, those roses have thorns, don’t touch. It seems that until we learn this lesson on our own, we never truly see how profound their lives have been. It took a lot of scratches to prune that garden of roses. I can just picture my mom saying after reading this, “See I’m not the only one who was warning their children.” Lesson learned mom, do you have a bandage :0)

Great Write Selene!

You pour ink like few others. Because I know you personally, I know how personal this poem is, and how hard it must have been for you to verbalize it, and still you give it breadth of light and beauty. Your children can do no wrong in your eyes, I know that, but they do, Selene. You will however let them get away with it every time, because your love IS unconditional.
Tell the girls to be civil and give it a rest already. And she didn't mean it, you know. That's how that one gets through her own anger at herself. By taking it out on you. Love you.
