Gutter Girls~

Gutter Girls~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

She took his dreams, shaken not stirred

down her throat without a sense of mercy, or loss

on the rocks

in the chill rush of a brook amongst trees

the purr of the Cadillac by the side of the road

deepening

as she established a sense of symmetry between her pearl white teeth;

he yielded to the delicacy of her sensual ire

asked if he could undo the buttons of her blouse

but the girl caught his hands in midair

and revised the moment into revenge

slowly worked him in between the bars of her hard soul

until he came to the conclusion that her dazzling smile

had nothing to do with sex

and everything to do with humiliation

She moved her slender turn of shoulders out of silks

like a rehearsed dream

bowed his friendship into her leather quiver

turning his nervous phrase, like diamonds, across her tongue

tasting his intentions and failures

with the rush of bass from the speakers

in the club

as she pressed her ribs into his spine

an imprint of her animal hyde in the bend of his sins

and tossed back a long island iced tea

in the glare of his loneliness;

the woman knelt against her thighs

stroking her to a murderous edge

working the thorn from her floating rib with her tongue

until her fingerprint left indents of light

coaxing her to the boundaries, falling through dreams

winding them around the reality of the moment

in which they both leaned into the man

and took him behind the curtains

for some opium on the side

His bladder filled with blood

another woman walked through the prismatic screen

her teeth deep in the white flesh of a red apple

her radiance poisonous

she straddled his swollen wedge of pain

as he took a breath past the agony

of so much ecstatic desecration

and arched upward

into the cherry petals

tattooed on the inside of her creamy thighs;

the women were on him in a gush of silks

and brilliant feathers of touch

one fed him purple grapes from between her breasts

the other broke apart his optimism beneath the golden parasol of her ruby lips

as she bent in for the orange crush, his bitter shame

while another took his springtime bouquet of flowers

pulled it through her celestial dust

as she licked the tears off his cheeks

and drank them from his eyes

Melody flared her nostrils

she took the highest price from between his hipbones

Muse fastened his wallet to her hips

laced up her leather boots

Miracle maneuvered his shape

against a pane of glass

Mercury ate him down with the rising sun~

he never knew what hit him

as the gutter girls strode past his carnality

and failure

left in a stain of wine

on a pillow

This reminds me of some of your earlier writes, so intense and so murderous but.. in this one I see it was his own lusts that lead to his humiliation, his pain of wanting what he couldn't have as it was teased right in front of him to take in visually but not physically. I guess he had no idea who he was playing with. I like how her smile meant one thing to him but another thing in reality. Very good story, that had me reading each word slowly imagining the images your stroked masterfully.

murderous, sensual, self-inflicted humiliation, anger...i know the negativity's all there but how can it still be so beautiful? every word's like candy i gluttonously devour. an undeniably luscious write...well, what's changed? haha

They say you can't reinvent the wheel, but here you are, reinventing verse...

Selene, you are in your own stratosphere, high above the rest, looking down with your knowing grin as angels and sinners look up for glances till they are blinded by the passion of blood and smoke and liquid hope.

Absolutely blown away.

People... this book is so good I had to take it on vacation with me last week! That's the truth, not just some comment to stroke...

I'm never separated from this poetess' art for very long, cause it makes the colors of every day life, the human condition in all its ups and downs, bolder and harder to take for granted... a little thing I too often, as a human, do well ...

Selene, if it's possible for poetic verse to render the soul's unconscious path toward unity and clarity, and I, for one, believe it can... Yours rises to the top, luv~

This is incredibly intense and powerful. The different layers of colour, animalistic hints and instincts; along with the man's responses. Fantastically put together

Classic angry days. Remember them well. You had every right to be pissed and to cut them up with your unmatched imagination.
