Do You Anchor When the Seabed's Made Of Bones?A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPoleThere is a taste to your words a fragrance in the dip of your eyelids when you look out at the vast sea I think you are perfume I think you are mist the spray of saltwater caught on my eyelashes you are a lure and I, a simple sunfish shedding scales and I think, but I was the siren here on this dock a rock in my fist for the boat freed from anchor leaving me parched on the shores my gills trembling hooked on the way love is spelled out in a bottle; my note will catch on whale's song breaching as Jonah casts his line one more time for the bones at the bottom of the sea and I turn to condensation on a mad man's liquor bottle
