Doing Time With Freud~Dreaming Jung Into The Mix

Doing Time With Freud~Dreaming Jung Into The Mix

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I will pose on your velvet couch

sir

pin my limbs to the wood of the frame

before your magnified importance

as you attempt to dissect the inked Rorschach of my mind

my double face image

androgynous

in profile

my cobweb patterns in lace curves to bind

and hold together

the fragments of my character

We will fall with the rain

my umbrella, moth eaten

above your head

I gaze over your broad shoulders

wondering what sort of mind you are drawing for me

on your legal pad

so old school you are, sir

where is your iPad

and, your split bifocals are charming!

Back to the staircase

up and down in spirals

at every level the scent of madness

bodies made of candle wax

melt into the tip of your ball point pen

scribbling

a funhouse image

a merry go round

playing Modern English

and I melt with you

in the candle’s flame

There are decades buried in the marble of this old room

where I puddle my muddled thoughts

kick the bucket of mead into the shallow shadows

corners come alive

mythology opens its palms

rocks a lullaby out of the ivory

and yes

 I still have the cradle

that gave birth to little red riding hood

swaddled in crimson stains

warmed by a wolf’s muzzle

I will pose on your velvet couch

my body stitched together with lilacs

my mind pouring the perfume of violets into the room

and we will dance with madness

and trauma

climb the mountain to Dehera’chena’a’Mortuanis

where it all began

in a downpour of butterflies

I insanely say that sanity is so colorful in its adaptations, Freud's attempt to enter a mind within his addicted dazzle has given way to thoughts profound. Your Id is seductive in this piece...And I bet even Freud's coke couldn't climb him so high...

Great Write!

Tommy

playing Modern English

I love that song...
I take this whole piece of how our psyche plays a big part in our sexual nature and how we view sex... a fascinating write.

Through the ache of each memory, you create a unique world, picturesque in all the painful beauty of the colors only you can name upon your canvas. May you pour yourself across the literary world, the Sun to the universe of your readership, for as long as it delights the playful silk of your mind and the tranquility of the veins within your soul, and then may you have the security and the luxury to bleed no more upon a page for any soul when your heart's desire is to retire every pen, for that is the only real blessing for a writer~ hugs

As always you did such an exquisite job! The layers of meaning and biting remarks mingled in with hints and double-edged imagery. Absolutely fantastic!

I read some of your reviews to see what the others understood of this... And yes, when I saw Freud in the title, first thing I thought of was a sexual adventure in a psychologist's office. At first, though, it seemed somewhat defiant, like...how dare you try to read me, and understand me... That's what I got from the first stanza; it was your use of the words Sir and Attempt. It's as if you should be laughing at one foolish enough to try understanding you solely through your mind without knowing your soul. That's how it felt to me, anyhow.

Overall, beautiful work, yet again, written as only this goddess can write it, and still so full of that magic you possess.

Totally love this! I could read it over and over. The bit about Red was priceless. Freud was obsessed with sex wasn't he? He did way too much cocaine I think. lol I like Jung a bit more, especially his work on dream analysis and the collective unconscious...the same topics are dealt with in religion, mythology and history by aboriginal peoples and their "dream time" beliefs...Aldous Huxley and the "perennial philosophy"...so many others.

...I think you're working you good doc too hard my lovely, I believe he is lost in your mental labyrinth...drinking tea with the worms.
"and yes
I still have the cradle
that gave birth to little red riding hood
swaddled in crimson stains
warmed by a wolf’s muzzle" - This stanza was magical for me. Beautiful work as always!

Unfolds like a psychoanalytical dream, the subconscious voice that whispers poetic memories to the corridor of the mind. Fabulous...

mythology opens its palms

- describes this one I think!! pristine descriptions - the pinned down to the couch - pouring perfume from mind - the second last stanza is my favourite here, though I like all of it! as always, your writing is just brilliant!! nice!
(I also must say I enjoyed the whole "shabang" ha)
