What Does Salome See When She Awakens?

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

Onyx pupils contract

Sunlight drips into celadon vessels

A venetian red curtain drawn

Sangria ringlets of silk cascade in a caress

Ivory shoulders tremble

Press blossoms into the pillow

Awakening protracted

Wine staggers slender veins

Lids stained ocher tremble

Veils in colorful stains

Vulgar silk

Cloying hips

Arise my devotee

Whispers unshutter the sweet, intoxicated daze

Salome turns into the dawn

Wide eyed stupor crushed

What do you see my devotee

His hair in jet waves across silver

Stunned smile in half bow

Cerise dew pearl cambering his strong jaw

Salome hiss

in my bed, you dare!

Salome twists

Snake arms whisper the distance

Palms to cheeks of John the Baptist

Memory like stone ripples on dead, mercurial waters

Rush fingertips of warmth with chill

What does Salome see when she awakens?

Words echo from dismal lips of Christ

Her bedchamber bathed in artifacts

She cradles the ornament to her breasts

Screaming

I see god!

I think I'm running out of superlatives to describe your work now ha!! what's there to say?! completely unique descriptions that only you can do, the play with biblical and other myths - you twist it all up - the whole style was brilliant - it was teasing, and wonderful vocabulary - the colours, the "sangria ringlets" all so nice!!!

Whoa... Well, in a word, intense, and tangible at that...or is that just my imagination? Even if it is, it is what it is, isn't it? Awesome work!

"Salome hiss~Salome twists"
"Words echo from dismal lips of Christ
Her bedchamber bathed in artifacts

'i know it must seem odd for me to rearrange the lines that affected me
~or rather touched me here~ but in this heavenly dance'
"She cradles the ornament to her breasts"
& i must indulge my emotion..."Screaming I see god!"

u do weave words with a malleable divine pen (;

I have a feeling Salome was probably an under-age girl who danced naked before the salacious Herod at the command of her dominant mother... so I hope, after the sleazy sensual dreams you so well portray, she did come to her senses when she felt the raw reality of the severed head... Powerfully written, challenging and full of vocabulary that sparkles like a diamond...

I...I...I'm just getting back in my chair after being knocked off of it by this work of pure art. So captivating...
