Swells~

Swells~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~dipped in inverted scripture~

"

Obsidian pupils dilate

malachite orbs

slivered

slender rings

rapturous slice

fragmented

undulating

wrists

ankles

sing with bells

predatory hips

surge

swells of silk

oscillate

drum beats

surge

travel muscles

expose

ruby tongue

trill crescendo

in arch

burgundy wine on a tabletop

betrayal like musk

in the auditorium

her perfume lean

heady

she whispers

to the angel

broken down by age

“bring me the head of John the Baptist”

what was he to do

confronted so, by the glory

of original sin

I love the way this ended. I'm not sure what to take from this, or how to read it... Too many different angles (not a bad thing). It has this classic/new age feel to me... Like somehow you made the old and the new to become some super-hybrid (feeling). I definitely enjoyed reading this (but then, who couldn't?).

What a great piece - it seems like the more I study scripture the reality of biblical times is really rather earthy, sensuous, with great operatic drama. You pulled that drama up a few more ticks and it's amazing!

Excellence, as always...

Very nicely done. The words sort of paint a broken picture, and the whole poem shakes the reader. The ending is very original.

You have a way with words and with describing women. It is like an ancient romantic dance of descriptions and mental mind twists that makes us all gasp then sigh with appreciation. Yes what was he to do but comply after watching such a vision approach him. Original sin indeed! Outstanding poem!

Nice. I love Bible stories, especially ones with predatory hips.

It's actually rather hard to describe the sensuality of an erotic dance, yet you make it seem easy, bringing to life the scene so well that one can still see the seductive swaying after the poem is finished. Excellently penned...
