Girl of Uruk~

Girl of Uruk~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~inking Gilgamesh~rebinding Enkidu~

"

My lens binds your cloud mare

in tall grass

ladder fall

I

in

chiffon chemise

a mermaid’s trail

between leather wings

inscribed with roman numerals

you

unearthing

aquamarine  globes

my burial mound under your fingernails

made of pearls

on a ledge

we

acrobats

in sync

in blue bottles

where ships sunk bow deep

in a boy’s dream of half moons

and girls in plaid skirts

skipping over him

into the ropes

jumping

tattoo patterns

with a curl of smoke ‘tween

gloss

and lips

they

mannequin red

books under broken arms

idling evermore

lady in waiting

I

remember your footfalls

how you plucked emerald eyes

and set them in my heart cutout

face me

here

today

between my bound hips

in chiffon chemise

explain to him

my pieces

before my slender visage

opens

the razor of my switchblade trail

peels the character from the skin

I abhor

I adore

in a crinkled old smile

that strokes every monarch stain

and every violet petal

from the roots

to coax

into full bloom

blood red

from the wolf’s

cottage by the sea

a basket of alms

in pirouette trails

across the body slain

of Enkidu

while Gilgamesh kneels

his ghost

implores Girl of Uruk

who knows better

than to mess

with Time

in fractals;

I bow

inhale a thousand ghosts

roots in bones

tossed

atop embroidered fate

inside a gypsy caravan

dreaming wheels

into the side

of my mountain

girl

Uruk ink

my lavender veins

Your mind spins a thousand memories into a million bits and pieces, and each and every fragment is silk to our senses... Thank you for giving us the puzzle that is you, dear poet... no finer gift has ever been given...
You walk deep inside today... may you walk in peace...

I like the way the thoughts in this poem are stand alone yet connected to the following idea and how the connection adds depth to the former thought until you have a Hedge-Maze of diction and myth and story telling that is a beautiful whole when viewed from above, but so easy to become lost in if you stroll between the lines.

you, my dear, have the heart of a warrior...the tongue prophet...the soul of a poet...you are so damn dangerous when they all work together

I will always enjoy reading your style of story telling, how you tell the story, explore a simple scene and how you give descriptions in pieces like a painter.
Like the others leaving their praise I too give you praise, bravo and well done.

Whatever you're gathering inspiration from, I want it.
This is lovely.

One should never spurn the advances of a goddess...she might just kill your best friend! Hell might not have fury like a woman scorned but a goddess is twice as bad. I love the references in this...always a classic hidden in your words.

this is terrific..only you could take a epic story and bind it into a modern tale..this tantalizes the taste for myth and legend..one of my favourite pasttimes..
