Rituals In Blend~

Rituals In Blend~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

Between blue moon

and stirring sun, gasping for the horizon

her skin in canary  chemise draped

sensual glow in dew pearls above plum upper lip

she played the navel orange across the skin of her palm

rolling citrus fluids through the rind

with controlled pressure

to penetrate the soft wood of the cutting board

sweet oils filling tulips etchings in cherry timber

back and forth

a half circle

a spiral

she played

eyes half closed

a hum caressing the inside of her long throat

the cat winding silk tales between her calves

purring

She pressed the curved knife to her lips

deifying feminine rituals in sun light

kissed a drop of blood into steel

lowered it to citrus rind

circling

coaxing

delicate ribbons of rich orange into pleats

a song dripping from the speakers

filling the swell of her breasts

with undulating breaths expanding ribs

she bowed her head above sensate art

juice drops on fingertips

to her tongue’s surface

ring deep

savoring

The navel body opened itself

to her dancing fingers

penetrating

unwrapping its surrender into blossoms

an assortment of sweet crescents

 she topped with cream

The plate took the offering

in its center

she placed it in the fade of the dipping moon

ascension  of the rising sun

with care

a piece of rice paper

folded in three interlaced triangles

lavender and gold

her ribbon curled like a delicate snake against one corner

enticing from a spiral rind

seasoned with mint leaf perfume

at each wrist;

she gave her phantom smile to a movement through an open door . . . .

. . . .caught on the edge of a dream

rich with the scent of citrus

he touched her lips

with eyes still closed

and for just a moment

felt her smile

as she pulled him from the catacombs of ivory

into a room with a dash of sunroof

her disregard for every formula

that did not allow for chance

drowned

in the citrus

between their lips

Goodness, what an astonishingly ap-peeling hallucinogenic love appetizer! One has a sense of an exquisite Japanese tea ceremony transferred to glorious citrus fruit, an orange glowing edible sun, prepared by an incandescent alien w/luscious lips and refined retractable antennae.

And the extolling of chance gives the whole poem a visionary utterly original I Ching feel.

As a friendly poetic gourmet, I think if I ate you it'd be excellent for rainbow image pop when my own work's thorniness obscures the roseate inner glow. You know how ironically refined Hannibal Lechter was, if you read any of the novels.

Yum.

Your visceral vocabulary is excellent and no one notices the worlds you notice, which are more deep and vast than the kitchen counter that contains them

C
Kitty, only you can make cutting an orange into a sensually velvety experience. :-)

It is beautifully sensual how you turn something ordinary into something extrordinary. Opening my eyes to simple tasks and the pure joy it is.

Routines seem to be anything but in the House of Selene...I am breathless after reading this most deliciously sensual poem. No, I don't think I can call it a poem - it is an experience, a feast...

And it's in my Library. Brava, Darling, Brava!
