That pebble went through the most majestic sorrow and misfortune ever. I feel that many of us are pebbles in someone's world. But we are also priceless pearls in others', sat upon mantles or hung on golden chains to dwell in the bosom of their soul. And that is definitely what you and your writings are to me--precious, lustrous pearls I press against my heart.
I absolutely adore this poem. It is rife with wisdom and beauty and glistens as majestically as the nacre of a pearl in the noonday sun. You personified the web of life and how we are all entangled as one in this journey we call life. Our destinies may differ, but we walk the same path.
I couldn't help but take this on a more literal level since my son absolutely loves to pick up stone, pebbles, rocks and bring them home. I am always so curious what tales that rock has to tell, what it has seen in it's time of existence. I wish it could tell me it's stories and the sights it has scene.

Oh! What it would feel like to be this pebble! So many vivid sensations when I read this - the fish kissing my indents, the bumping of a lunar moth upon my shiny face, the fingertips, gills of a koi. I must let myself be plucked out of the stream sometimes, and see where I get taken :)
Well, I must say that this was an excellent introduction to the quality of work at this site! I pray that I find more as talented as you! I cannot offer any new/insightful/original comment because it has all been said. Wonderful use of personification. I never thought I could connect to a pebble the way I did. haha. The images are crisp and the metaphor is fantastic. Truly, a wonderful piece of writing here! The one thing that I found a little difficult was the absence of punctuation in a few places led me to read it incorrectly. This is not on you, I as a reader need to improve. Wonderful poem, thank you for sharing!
Well, this a poem which touches the heart not only of a pebble, but mine as well...I sense a deep sorrow of displacement, disappointment and disillusionment.
It is so like us to fall in and out of love without having truly engaged in the object of our attention...rushing ahead to the next excitement along the road.
Poor pebble, poor us !!
