Eyes Beholder~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~playing with colors~

"

blue eyed girls will love you

brown eyed girls, warm your heart

green eyed girls will smile

their velvet smoke screen

on love’s wall

blue eyed girls will catch you

brown eyed girls, break the fall

green eyed girls will weep alone

unable to unbind their nature

to unbend those stubborn arms

I love this.

I have to leap out into the aisle and yell - "NOT SO!" as I can bear witness to a blue eyed watching a falling heart with a half-smile - never catching nor breaking the fall. That being said - my green eyed wife is always there to pick me and dust me off but only AFTER I crash down into reality's barren tarmac.

I have an image of trying to see through the "velvet smoke screen" to try and make out the "writing on the wall" and not quite making it out until finally, falling, I am caught by blue eyes from "somewhere else"

"unable to unbind their nature

to unbend those stubborn arms" ......I'm not sure about the inability here...is it not more the unwillingness ?? Blue, brown...they are 'easy' on the eye...but GREEN acts like a shield...you need to fight to be allowed 'entrance'...and only then do you discover the treasure behind the green...you may end up bleeding, but itwill always remain an unforgettable experience !

The boyz just may be eyeing you closer, "What color? Where's that reference poem?" Doin the OK WHAT PLAY thang. I prefer the brown, no blue, sure enough thinking of green . . . the BLUE Can't hang with the sadness of the green. Guess the hazel is out. If its not poetic enough, no-go. My present lady has hazel.

I can attest to the lure of the grren-eyed girl...i could say a million things but none could capture the essence of green the way you have.

the ending here is beautiful and brilliant....the one thing I luv about the way you write is that there is always so much unwritten content...like underneath the words and in between the lines kinda thing...at least for me this is how I often read it...each word a story in itself...you are a most brilliant and gifted writer...and an incredible human being as well...my green eyed friend -DannyLynne

Oh, I am so glad to see these ideas turned into a poem. They contain a warning and a promise: green-eyed girls don't do things by halves.
