Ambrosia~

Ambrosia~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~are we that sweet o' gods of old?~

"

Killing me

softly

sunny side up

yolk drips

from the corner of your toast

vanilla ice cream

white cloud spread

in espresso sky

I pour my muse into the sea

for the shores of Crete

scrambled

molten reverie

killing me

softly

with his wrongs

coddled

figments

of our own machinations

our mystifying mortality

ambrosia

for gods;

if I slip behind the curtain

during Act II

will you jump the stage

with me

into our own banquet

by the shores

of a parallel Crete

far away

from another dreadful play

with another dreadful ending?

~sometimes happenstance tastes so contrived from the periphery of reason~I wonder if we are but sweet sips of playthings for ancient gods~ "Move her there, move him there. This is going to be divinely tragic! Make some popcorn, Athena! Get beer Aphrodite!"
just on of a million lightspeed thoughts of my wandering mind~

who doesn't wish to slip our skin...go to another place...a parallel universe...
where we can spectate us here eating stale popcorn and watered down beer...
no frustration pain, disappointment. Of course...we assume it is better there than where we are...what if it's worse?
I think we are just pawns in a godly game of chess.where we have to prove our mettle by the moves we make...it is within our power to dominate...to have our opponent in a strangle hold...but we weary as we strive and worry of the outcome...
one only has to read about the trials of Job to understand the game at play...an opponent who only want to see us fall and a mentor who helps us take the blows and persevere...
I'd like to think our friend beyond is not as bellicose as we might fear...more compassionate than anyone we've known, and the source for all the beautiful words that pour out from you sentient heart onto the page...
I love your thoughts and your musings...
Life is the scenery on the way to our destination...

This reminds me of Shadow. A character from Neil Gaiman's book American Gods. I'm charmed by this.

Clever poem that flows well, you can never go wrong to just let your mind wander and see where it takes you :)

Your language vacillates between words with ease, and you don't let the reader lag behind but facilitate their accompaniment into your transcendent imagination

So fine that I can taste your words..poetry is my ambrosia...oh, i'm sure that we are amusing creatures to the gods :) " I pour my muse into the sea
for the shores of Crete"........I love that...the whole piece...is worthy of reverence

So if we are the dice of anciant gods, do they also contrive our writing?

Do the words I am writing now constitiute one of those playful little plot twists that make movies actually worth watching?

I LOVE YOUR MIND.............that we are nothing but prawns for play........maybe we are........because some days we are indeed rhyming without reason, your descriptions always vivid, always with great insight.
