Free Fall~

Free Fall~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I suspend this movement;

air balloons with wicker baskets

sea currents raid the sky

lemon chiffon silk

cocoon

in his arms

carried through brambles

and snowflake clouds

my thumb

and index finger trap a marble sphere

rolling pebbles between my cheeks

koi fish scales

eyelids shimmer

my fist through a paper thin wall

suspended ink

his hands in my blue jean pockets

I don’t understand this disconnect

my hard drive

driven into the sheets

I await before a white plate

delicacies on fire

books burning

suspended on a ledge above a city

he screams for me to fly

but my wings are made of stories

and my effort dribbles ink columns

down the haiga of the world

captured here

in wicker baskets

floating under the sea

tiny fish in snow globes on the sand

shaken

air balloons rupture

on a coral reef

tumble out the girl

with the pearl eyes

On the ledge

a story writes itself

in free fall

A beautiful story written to enhance and make us think of this girl and her pearl eyes.......The falling, and the descriptions have me thinking of how it would be, to be her.....wings made of stories......

Ah! true this...stories (poems) are the wings that make our spirits fly...
Reading this one lifted me off the ground..
The ledge is there, and it is important that we trust, and jump off, pens in hand.

a beautiful unraveling of genius...I love this

"I don’t understand this disconnect"

"my fist through a paper thin wall"
"suspended ink"-such brilliance

"tumble out the girl
with the pearl eyes"

This is very beautiful, all the wonderful words and imagery flow together creating a story, this is like an act of artistic creation.

Falling, falling... with wings made of stories. It sounds like a whisper of a woman with the mind that floats on forever... Like you. :)

You really paint a beautiful picture in my mind..your phrasing is divine..as Emma says - you really do go to places which most of us can only dream out, never put on paper...

What an incredible dream scape you paint. I just love the flow and with it, all your lovely imagery. This reminds me a bit of the Movie "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams. It also brought back memories of Santa Fe. This is a wonderful fantasy, yet woven with love and hard reality.
I can't and won't try to highlight every beautiful line that grabbed me, but in the scheme of things, these represent your brilliance to me. A brilliance felt in every line.
"I await before a white plate

I was going to grab two stanza's but I think you got my drift. This is surrealism at it's best.

I so wish I could fly to the places you visit, and do it so effortessly! Your words carry me to places where inner thoughts and outer body are somehow detached yet oddly in unison. The swish of falling within different realms .. oh to be that girl with the pearl eyes.

If i say 'magnificent', will you still tease me!
