Twigs~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~inspired on the branching branches of the Tree~

"

Fingertips dance, rally in a cluster of tiny twigs

girls with feather eye lashes

dressed in foliage;

Onyx  is made of pinecones and wild flowers

Jade is made of juniper and nettle branches

Bleeding bird, dreaming of being a boy

between their prayerful palms

pressed

with opulent devotion against the cloudless October sky

They pull little pieces from themselves

their nimble fingers elemental emerald

spill vines

interlace intent

luxuriant in faith

Bird’s wounds mend with verdant shoots

Onyx

Jade

in sync

rebuild a nest on a top branch

where a little bird will reinforce

the solidity

with his firm stance

against the elements

will reinforce the miracle

wings spread to each dawn

in a nest made of pinecones and juniper

This reminds me a lot of myself as a boy..for some reason.
It brings back memories of climbing trees and staring at baby birds, in nests,
..and dreaming I was them..perhaps they were "dreaming of being a boy"?

"Bird’s wounds mend with verdant shoots"
Is this mending done by the same "force that through the green fuse drives the flower", spoken of in the Dylan Thomas poem ?
Sorry.I really get into a poem when I read it. I become it in a way...
I'll shut up now
As you can probably tell, Selene, I really liked this poem.

Just looking at the rebuilding a home level, this one hit me. My house was thouroughly destroyed in Katrina with most of our belongings. We lived for 5 months in a friends converted attic (6yr olds room with airplains and helicopters painted on the ceiling) then rented an apartment for a year and a half while we fought the insurance company until we gave up. We bought another house that had to be renovated and then furnished. It is finally starting to feel like we have a stable home.

Sigh. Heavy sigh. The colors... The miracle. The wings spread to each dawn... Sigh. Just musical. Simply wonderous...

Hello Selene,

An inspired write that is inspiring about recreation. It all goes back to roots. What do you call home, is home important enough to rebuild to establish, to tell newer generations of the struggles but show them the strength in the foundation. Excellent as always.

Regards,

Matthew

rebuild a nest on a top branch

the solidity

with his firm stance

against the elements
..those lines were so delicately woven and yet had such solidity in them..
and thank you very much...

Did you intentionally use the WOTD or was it just a beautiful accident?
