I love the rhythm in this...and the ending was perfect you have such a way with words Selene I am always awe struck and please please forgive that it seems I always begin each review of you with the opening "I love..." I don't mean to sound redundant its just that its always the first words to pop into my head..."I loved it" -DannyLynne
I am amazed each and every single time I see something through a different perspective...it will always and forever, for me, be the miracle of life...you are the Queen of taking us on these journeys...
Shattering those social stasis boxes that seek to entrap us... it seems odd to switch gender faces at first glance, but perhaps Mars and Venus would understand one another better if they swapped orbits for a while... I think society has it fixed that there can be no truce in the battle of the sexes, which is why we are more embattled than the Middle East. Yet a simple look through the eyes of another can so drastically change one's perspective... or at least that's what I got out of this thought-provoking write....
You should know by know, I usually allow my own imagination take me on the journey you offer not only to me but to everyone. I do like the ambiguity your writings offer from time to time. It lets me float in the sky and to take the puzzle pieces you offer and sometimes to rearrange. It is no lie I have been inspired by a few lines that you wrote. I am sure you are aware of this and I am sure you are wondering what point I am coming too.
It's simple, this poem to me reflects everything a writer should be. A writer shouldn't have a set face but be able to create what ever face they want you to see. They create a world of eternity and drive...a world of monsters and killers, or a young woman confused in who she is...This my friend, as always, was amazing. Amazing that such a simple mind can enjoy something so complex.
behind this mirror door, which ain't so easy to open, the trick of gender falls aside, and we can breathe so deeply, and play so freely, that we can learn to fly...you have such beautiful wings
We are who we are, part outside, part inside our thinking and feeling, adopted by influence, inheritance absorbed in natural self .. and, when we meet someone else who drifts into our puzzle we near completion.
There's more than the sensual in this wonderful writing, there's an adventure into self. Your writing touches nerves inside me, I want to leap over the moon and hang suspended, dear friend!
'he gives her
his definition
in submissive composition
she reshapes it with kohl
gives him cat eyes'
It could be read in many different way..........the beauty of it, although gender issues bring little beauty......self discover and exploration, a sense of certainty of what one is........it speaks on many levels to me having a transgender child, but it speaks of strength......veru sensual, loved it, as I love all your work.
Of course everyone will get something different out of this, but for me, this is a woman coming to love herself and all her masculine ways. We can love no other until we love ourselves. And you reveal such a statement with an elegant beauty others can not.
