Liniment For Souls~

Liniment For Souls~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

colors on his pillow

trace a profile in crème

lavender

emerald

restrained pastels

muted

rose petal whisper

in a press against his parchment

a breeze in the silk pressure of fingertips

stroke his brow

good morning smile

mullberry print in amorous flavors

around the rim of a coffee cup

the rising sun

a globe of beautiful fire

an impression at the horizon

where desert meets sky

cycle of flares

if you can survive the desert

you can survive anything

she says

he agrees

they watch the world

they feel the world

while feeding at the base of a miracle

where

there's a crescendo waiting to happen

and it's not necessarily a bad thing

she a muse

muses

what I think has happened

is that human beings have forgotten to be human beings

and aspire to be gods

the problem with that is

is that gods don't take very good care of their creations

phenomenon takes on an aspect

like a planetary orbit of a pupil around an iris

his iris

her orbit

and that's how it happens

sometimes

a moment becomes a gift

he says

you are a gift

she says

I believe you~

her palm opens

his palm covers

the link

feels like home

the mixture feels like nectar

a brocade

a beautiful brocade

they play cat’s cradle with streams of sunlight

with streams of conscious flow

intent

fingers entwine

creating new shapes

in a desert

a root takes hold

a flower opens

shifts eternity's hourglass

shapes begin to take form

a slow progression of images

the future opens on a pane of glass . . . .

Gorgeous in an almost lazy morning flow. Your images are sometimes short and always insightful. And yet paint a picture so vividly. My personal favorite section is:
the section where she says the problem is that we've stopped trying to be human and aspire to be gods. Yes the gods don't have that great of a track record! I think more often now, we are becoming the modern day gods:computers. More people are stepping away from 'the earth', nature, animals, gaia, whatever you want to call being in touch with the world and our instincts, and turning to technology and a stream of 0's and 1's that aren't necessarily attached to living beings or something that will affect living beings. Maybe it's because I live in a decent sized metropolitan city, but the number of people that can stop and see the wonder in an exotic orchid ( much less a common daisy ) is dwindling rapidly. They marvel at 1080p and 3-d (pretty sure nature is in 3-d and even higher res). It is a sad situation as humanity is pulled farther away from its soul and is not even consious of the fact. Oh. I could go on for a while, but I think I am monopolizing your review space. As always great write b

Reading this was like witnessing the petals of a rose slowly open to the warming rays of the sun... poetic blooming...

when all is said and done...
when we contemplate where we are and the road that brought us here
and where we've yet to go...we realize its not the aspirations or the dreams that mean the most but the moment we have now and those who we love to share it with...

The future is the crescendo waiting to happen...for all of us...the miracle yet unseen...yet it is the connection made...the moment shared...the one who holds us in orbit like a ball on a string...spinning...seemingly weightless in this moment...our life...

it requires peace in your soul to liken your life to a beautiful brocade...I think most of us feel the best is up ahead...
Carpe' diem...

You have a scintillating soul...

mmm 'the future opens on a pane of glass" and seeing both sides they understand "so as above" and in the distance a symphony enraptures them....and I could go on and on...it's like a melody you write wrapped around the essence of being....your metaphors are magic and your magic are metaphors...Love it!

That last stanza is bliss....one of the best descriptions of falling in love I have read. The first half of the poem is a great set up, and the Gods line was awesome. Pretty sweet I must say.

This is pure emotion put into words. You weave a timeless melody with all your poems. Your words are always exquisitely chosen, and this is no exception. This is absolutely stunning. Great work!
