Liquid Braille~

Liquid Braille~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

I learned you

each of you

first

in an amniotic world

with a flutter

like an inside kiss from butterfly

The first one pressed her hips against my hip bone

a fluid umbilicus

filled with whispering rushes

she said

I will teach you patience

and unconditional love

She did . . . .

The second one bent her brow against my ribs

her pulse a steady murmur

in a silver artery that ran my belly

she said

I will teach you to trust again

and give you a banquet of childhood

you never had

She did . . . .

The third one pressed his palm against my abdomen

my eyes dilated

aching for tear ducts

as I read his life through my fingertips

he said

I don't belong to you

but thank you for the haven of your body

I will teach you complete selflessness

He did

in liquid Braille . . . .

Wow, this was absolutely extraordinary.

That being said, I'm not entirely sure what this poem is about. Maybe I have to read it again (and again) to understand it, but the prose is beautiful and the thought behind it is beautiful as well. It flows so well and has great sensory imagery.

I loved it.

. excruciating ... there is so much to learn ... to see ... to sense ... to be sensitive to ... this goes straight to the core of the soul ... etched in black and white ... some shades of grey ... a riveting poetic reminder ... validating all that needs to be validated ... and reflecting thoughtful and poignant pauses ... beautifully felt, received and written ... and transmitted ...

Very clever Selene. I felt sadness after the last few lines but realised that's how we all begin to comprehend and learn from others, in situations which may be right or indeed wrong.

Thanks for share...I hope you recieved my comment on what makes a girl melt...mmmm (My laptop is being naughty and some things have gone amiss)

Take care
