Carnal Carnival~

Carnal Carnival~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~trippy trips through layers of primal baklavah~ ;)~

"

Lightningbug, who decided out of blue to be spun of honey,

for his sugar moth

lit in a vat of cotton candy and raspberry crème

and fulfilled the summer cheeks

of a chubby dream licking the colors

from the skye

a woman, who loved a man who'd never really understand her brand of love

well, she came out of her daydreams by the candy stand

and dipped her fingers into ambrosia

funhouse lights came on

a funnel cake vendor opened his palm

for her tongue to slick across

powdered sugar

he closed her in his fist

just like that

she laughed inside his life line

cut his breath in half

with an inside out kiss

passionate enough to crush his bones to white ash

she blossomed above the tents like a rose

an Arabian bloom

of elusive blue

she grabbed a trellis of golden hair

flung her acrobatic body

into the arms of a man

caught

unexpected on a high wire

her lips finding

those sweet hollows between his belly and hip bones

two lives entangled on pure sex

and nothing more

plummeting into the arena

to land on the strong back of a caramel stallion

they rode off into the night

past the arcades drenched in the blood of carnival

ripped past fabrics of preconceived beliefs

in love

manifested

in the body of a laughing plastic cat

(made in China stuck on its hollow butt)

which the woman snatched from the hands of a little boy

saying "Be free, express yourself, vouge!"

and tossed it away

up, into the laughing mouth of the full moon above

as she laid her white marble cheek

into the strong back of the man

who took her for a carnal ride through New Orleans

up into the Eucharist of a different taste

where they reclined back into each others bones

in a boat made of Elysian dreams

through a swamp

alligator came up to take a peek at all the moaning and sighing going on

in the frolicking boat

a heron leapt from the bole of a bone tree

landed on his snout

"Have a sense of decency for Christ’s sake, you perv."

he said to the alligator

who blushed vermillion

and sank back into the undulating waters of the swamp

The man came up for air from her red mouth

"For you I'll make an exception.  But only because you're so you."

and his blue eyes laughed

with the purr giggle from her throat

as she sucked him back into her body with a kiss

through her throat

into her cheeks

into her wondrous carnival of mind

Love this.... Reminds me of a song, perhaps Bob Dylan would sing...Played in only two chords...nice work, Moon Goddess.

"in the body of a laughing plastic cat (made in China)

and tossed into the laughing mouth of the full moon above
as she laid her white marble cheek into the strong back of the man"

Play it using all minor chords....:-)

ooo I can still read it ;)

I've read this in the book a few times already - I love the way you use animals (yes, lol) - and the scenes around you and upgrade them kind of lol make them surreal and more worthy to sit in one of your poems! nice!

This captures the burlesque feel of the theatre, and surreality of carnivals during the Depression... like a weird David Lynch movie.

Ever clever. Carnival experiences magical and even sensual, made more so by your spin on the whole thing. Spicy tea, orange roll and a lovely dose of Selene.. Great way to start the day.

Hello Selene,

So are you free to take one of these boat rides with me? You have away to brighten the intense with vivid imagination that lingers passed like the alligator watching the bottom of the boat dip in and out like a bobble of a fishing line. Was he hungry or just jealous....That is the question.

An excellent ride....

Regards,

Matthew

Whoa -- we rockin' hard now!

Pumpin' New Orleans, Eucharist, Elysian dream boat, voyeur alligator.

You breathe the picaresque "Carnal Carnival" ride in-out, blood pulsing sex to brain.

"as she sucked him back into her body with a kiss

Soul-mind candy yum. And as for your fine femme sucking the phantasmagoria all back up into mind, I'm reminded we're interdependent monads howling holo-projections from the Void.

And AS the Void the paradox dissolves in naked Attention.

This is the greatest Carnival my imagination has ever been to. I just wonder who these amusement seekers in this story were really about. Hm...

Ahhh, now you're on my turf!

and he could smell the jazz
drifting over from preservation hall
counterpoint
and unpredictable until that brief epiphany
blinding light.
wrought iron sleep walking
to Marie Laveau's tomb
bringing an offering of honey and cinnamon
that they ate together, laughing.
Old St. Joe's brick foundation
slowly crumbling morter,
but the bricks remain.
Finally laying breathlessly under two hundred year old oaks
osmosing history between slightly parted lips...
