Somewhere In The Bole of A Tree~

Somewhere In The Bole of A Tree~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

They killed me under a willow tree

that never learned how to weep

I was so young

and didn't understand that I was supposed to stay under the dirt

didn't understand that they had meant for daisies to grow out of my bones

meant for all the stains of blood on my petticoats to stay buried

and out of the books

of those different kind of faerie tales

but I crawled the edge of the box into the woman's lap

and she curled me through her smile

unlatched the golden clasp

brushed her fingertips against my ankles

as I kicked the mud against the oak

dug my fingernails

into the rocks and dirt

the roots

and crawled back into the world

in my stains

ash underneath my eyes. . . .

“Pandora.” the old woman fell apart into a thousand pine needles

the man dug his fingertips through the body of the wreath

drawing blood out of his sins

I smiled

I curtsied

they had no choice but to scoop me up

I had no choice but to recreate me

knowing

one day I would push the monsters through the velvet curtains

carve them into every page

with my quill bleeding their ink

into the parchment;

and when they see their ungirl all grown up

out in a world for her to paint

the monsters will reassemble out of the bole of a tree

and bleed their footprints into the ground

looking for their girl

who was supposed to stay buried

with all their dirty secrets

and all their inhuman minds

and they will hook her back into the mythos of it all

but she will already have told her tale

and this time would stay buried

with marigolds blossoming from her bones

under a willow tree

that will learn to weep

on that day

Absolutely mind blowing hon!
The whole mystical scene is one of intriguing wonder!
The burial, rebirth and the fact she voiced her side of the story is exquisite!
Love this!

Selene, you see with different eyes; like Van Gogh, who you are is your art, and your expression pulls your readers through the dimensions of mind, and all of history in your palette

i enjoyed the imagery in this one, especially all the constrast between nature, death, rebirth, and of course the creative spirit.

This was a very vivid scene to me with the tree itself as I could feel it as well.

A weeping willow that does now weep.......yet we as humans do.

What an eerie yet exhilarating piece of fantasy
redolent of a classic horror with great imagery.
Nice Selene well done...
