Melodic Runes~

Melodic Runes~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

When I die

they will bend over my bones

press their identity against my white, silk skin

inlaid with rivulets of imploded arteries and runnels of unthreaded veins

somber blue, and ornate stygian

against the landscape of cherry blossoms

and butterflies

tattooed

over habituated moments, inside

someone else's irrationality;

and they will read the self-fulfilling, prophetic runes in the faceted uncertainty of each rib

in the fine grained  hip bones curved like wings, telling stories I'd never dare tell myself

and as they slide their apical instruments between my thoracic curves

the moment will explode like gems from a god's creative spasm

and flood the arena of metal and and blood

and then, yes, then and only then

will they know that I didn't die of anorexia nervosa

though it may have been a symptom

of that beautiful deformity they will find

embedded like a bundle of corral and sacral threads

which permitted me move like fluid, mercurial music exposing savage talent;

and though the crowd will say

"she starved herself inside her own myth"

a few will know, it wasn't that at all

Selene,

This is so beautifully sad, a wordletting of sorrow from the soul. I relate to you on so many levels that you don’t even know. It’s really sad how we walk through life and pass by people everyday and never look deeper than our shallow self-centeredness will allow. You reach through the world with your words, and I truly believe that you are making yourself heard.

You were a diamond in the rough, now sparkling, brilliant and bright.

Incredible .... this is an amazingly creative and yet also real seeming poem. It was dark and yet simultaneously beautiful. Nice work!

I find this difficult. As with most of your other poems i have looked at, it's different. Even though i myself prefer more traditional and structured poems, i enjoyed this one.
You should traditional aswell... the sign of a good writer or artist is adaptability and versatility.

Keep at it ;)

this is a piece of reaching...it removes you from the realm of mundane word weavers, and makes of you one of the transcendent seers; however, they forgot to take the scalpel away...

I absolutely love this poem. The image was vivid and morbid and left me a little sad when it was over. I love it when a piece of writing can, without resorting to emotional extortion, have me feeling the way this one did.

The body tells what but not why. Clever writing. Important theme and great writing.

Beautiful. I devoured this three times. Excellent title, and I love how you play with innocence and death, sin and wisdom.

You do have a way of dancing with death and making it seem alright and beautiful. I have never written about my own death, brave soul that you are. Your work is unique and that is what I enjoy most about it, but then it is also flowing as I read. Great write.
