Melodic Runes~

Melodic Runes~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

When I die

they will bend over my bones

press their identity against my white, silk skin

inlaid with rivulets of imploded arteries and runnels of unthreaded veins

somber blue, and ornate stygian

against the landscape of cherry blossoms

and butterflies

tattooed

over habituated moments, inside

someone else's irrationality;

and they will read the self-fulfilling, prophetic runes in the faceted uncertainty of each rib

in the fine grained  hip bones curved like wings, telling stories I'd never dare tell myself

and as they slide their apical instruments between my thoracic curves

the moment will explode like gems from a god's creative spasm

and flood the arena of metal and and blood

and then, yes, then and only then

will they know that I didn't die of anorexia nervosa

though it may have been a symptom

of that beautiful deformity they will find

embedded like a bundle of corral and sacral threads

which permitted me move like fluid, mercurial music exposing savage talent;

and though the crowd will say

"she starved herself inside her own myth"

a few will know, it wasn't that at all

Selene,

This is so beautifully sad, a wordletting of sorrow from the soul. I relate to you on so many levels that you don’t even know. It’s really sad how we walk through life and pass by people everyday and never look deeper than our shallow self-centeredness will allow. You reach through the world with your words, and I truly believe that you are making yourself heard.

You were a diamond in the rough, now sparkling, brilliant and bright.

ahh the power!! - those last lines - "she starved herself inside her own myth" - wow! and the first ones - ah just brilliantly selene - I love the title too - the melodic runes of a fallen person - bones bent against white silk - it all has a raw almost violent beauty at times - nice!!

This piece is a good example of why I keep this book in the glove compartment of my car...
Your ink breathes more than poetry, more than life, more than even you...
It breathes the depth of the soul of a humanity, moving mortality, in brutality and beauty from seed to seed, and from every bloom... pearls~

This could be the companion piece to the poem Robin featured yesterday!
Those opening lines brought a lump to my throat: too much beauty and tragedy here.

This was... amazing. The rhythm of the words were so beautiful, despite the heavy topic of death and self harm.
