Once upon a time Apocalypto wore a kerchief

Old Crone churned butter . . .

young girl cut pieces from her skin
for the morning sky
old dog settled into the grass
at her feet

young cat caught a finch
in her pocket
monocle hiding one human eye

they said the rapture would begin with a trumpet
men lie

it began with the churning of butter
and a broken girl without a heart
but who still remembered her smile

I think that rapture would begin with something as simple...and complex...as that. I hope it would. It makes more sense than emanating from cold hearted power brokering, something has to be the fulcrum and why not make it something beautiful. It wouldn't justify, but it may make the bitter pills easier to swallow. Missed your words...awesome as always.
