Notes~A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
You had me, at petal; aren’t I simple?
I started a tempting lean into the persuasive melody and found a thousand notes tucked under my sparrow bones a owl quill under my clavicle
and ink in the dark liquid of my pupils I wrote you a love song on a wafer slipped it under your tongue inside a fabled kiss a sonnet on a piece of linen pushed into your back pocket with my hand on a ordinary walk down by the river A verse, I painted on your hips while you lay dreaming beneath the canopy of my saga and a rhyme, carved from my restless fingertips stained the collar of your shirt in red traces You had me at petal, and thought I was simple until the notes materialized in a thousand varying shapes, in a thousand different places in a thousand different dyes over a thousand and one nights until my gown was a whisper of papyrus and leaves stitching the hemline of our story, with two possible endings You had me at petal, but I am not simple . . . . copyright:2012SeleneSkye ALL RIGHTS RESERVED © 2012 NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPoleAuthor's Note
