harvest moonA Poem by moongirlprompt #5: abstract to concrete poem“Harvest Moon” Trodding the path of maple trees and scented air On October’s wind and breathless sighs Lost in reverie of a past memory we both share, Hollow eyes gazing upon the color-changing sky. Pale dry leaves desperately clings to the branch as it’s vibrant green hues start to fade falling, swirling into the crisp cold air finally settling in piles of mulch, it laid. I shiver as frost nips my fingers, the passionate fire dims into glowing embers, fleeting memories of former bliss lingers as spring’s siren sound stifles down in November Soon, the harvest moon emerges like a second burning sun, to fill the sky with button stars that morning pulls undone. And when I couldn’t slumber, where the nights are awfully slow The stars have come, to accompany my solemn show And it is in twilight hours I see, The beauty of it all, That everything fades as thee, Like an autumn leaf that softly falls. - s.t © 2020 moongirlAuthor's Note
