with wings and fins

with wings and fins

prompt #3: to envision inhabiting between air and water

"

“with wings and fins”

sometimes I wonder what it would be like

to conquer the seas and the skies above,

to be like the gods in their domain

owning the air and water as they reign

oh, how wonderful it would be

to not think about falling or drowning,

weightless, held up by invisible hands

viewing the mountains from a bird’s eye

dancing and twirling in the cirrus clouds,

like a soul free from it’s confines.

to envision being swept by the turbulent waves,

that wash my tears and sorrows away

inhaling the smell of the ocean breeze,

let the currents take me to where i belong

as i float merrily above it all.
