Birthday wishes to 'Laasya'

A Poem by Chandra Sekhar Vedula

This is the poem written on the occasion of 1st birthday of my niece 'laasya' which falls on 11-11-2012. Written on 08-11-12.

Not more than a year before, we've seen this girl arrive;

to fill the void, all set to kick-start her drive;

named ‘laasya’, here to carry on her legacy;

I’m hopeful; it will be an abode of her fantasy.

Back down here, we find the women with her brood;

feeling cherished by her presence; and allured,

singing the praises of her new angel, by far;

descended with charm, from the hearth of the morning star.

As the glorious year passed, with her vivid memories;

mama sings more of her, like cuckoo does of spring;

it is nothing short of blessing, for the divine soul whom she is;

and why couldn't be it a birthday wishing, for the big-eyed girl....sure, it is!

Whoa! Seems like your nephew/niece is really close to you. Too bad that he/she cannot understand this poem now since he/she is only one. I only noticed one mistake. In the description you have written nephew which as we know is a male but in the poem you address that person as a female. So, if you could get that thing rectified this piece will pan out perfectly. Apart from that, you have given a vivid account of the changes he/she has brought into your lives. And Happy Birthday to your nephew/niece!
