Life’s expedition

Life’s expedition

A Poem by Sekhar Chowdhury
"

A comparison between Life and Journey on roads

"

Ever wondered how
The size of the roads
Either Dwindles or Expands
After we travel
For a few moments on it.

Life too,
Experiences comfort and discomfort,
Drags us through
A suave Highway sometimes
Or a crooked street..
But whatsoever,
We aim to reach
Our destination,
Not where, the road
Really seems to end..

In a highway,
Life doesn’t generally
Makes us pause
For the cars which
Approaches us
From opposite direction,
We pass safely…

In a narrow street,
When opposite sides approach,
Either we have to
Drive fast,
And mark s a safe place for us,
Or wait until they pass
Or You don’t stop-
Drive speedily and
Meet with a clash!

Our hard work chapter
Is much akin to this,
When it really pays off
You drive on a highway
Hardly pausing
To meet your goal…
When it doesn’t
Or rather
When you really didn’t
Do your homework,
You drive on a crooked street
And have the option
Of Either ending your chapter
By clashing with lost hope,
Or Wait so that the other
Reaches His goal sooner to you,
Or you drive fast
And mark a new benchmark for you..
