Color My Insanity

Color My Insanity

A Poem by seirai
"

On the spot poem to use as a contest entry.

"

I look around sadly and wonder
Why isn’t there any green?
It feels so barren.
Without the lifeblood
Of the outside world
I feel so lonely and drained.

If only I could have
The bright jade leaves
And the almost blue shadows
And the barely green shades
Of plants that aren’t quite alive.
Then everything would be right.

Instead, I am stuck
In a white hospital room
With a white hospital bed,
White hospital ceiling,
And nurses in white uniforms,
Who say that green is the color
That makes me go insane again.
