To Him

To Him

A Poem by Ginny Woods
"

A poem about a Long Distance Relationship including the feeling of true love.

Part I, Me without You

Once there was a tiny, inconspicuous girl,
Someone who wanted to explore the world.
No one special, not much to explain about.
Just someone who cared more for the people around.

She was hiding her feelings, dreams, her inner building,
To spend her time solving humanity problems, pain was screaming.
"Wow, you're so kind", she got complimented all the time,
Naive as she was, she believed in those -not so- honest words.

She grew to be a stronger lady,
Still nothing more than just a thought in a few minds, maybe.
She loved to help and she learned to ignore
The overflowing, non-existent gratitude for her.

She learned how to fake a smile, how to become a part of nothing,
How to say a lie, even if she meant to reveal the right thing.
A lie, nothing great nor grand,
She was just too afraid,
To lose a friend.

With the time, she realized
The dark side of a life.
Those bad words that were screamed into her ears,
Rolled down her cheeks in flowing tears.

Once there was a tiny, inconspicuous girl,
Someone who wanted to change the world.
No one special, yet with a big plan formed by heart,
She packed her behaviour, feelings and emotions;
Ready to start.

Part II, Me falling for You

I wandered to be,
To find the inner me,
To get to know my deepest desires.
I just did not know,
I couldn't find them,
Without having you.

By the first few words you directed towards me,
You had my fullest interest, my biggest respect,
All my heart, in fact.

I never fell for anyone that fast.
Correction: Maybe for Cookies, Tim Burton or The 1975,
But to be honest, for nothing that I thought would last.

Wow, you are so special to me,
That one of my deepest desires is to see,
You full of happiness, the bestest of moods,
If you ask me, that are our love's roots.

I wandered to be,
To find the inner me.
But not all those who wander are lost,
I found the greatest of loves,
That I now need the most.

Part III, Me loving You

I see you and I do not want anything more
Than meeting you, never leaving no more.
Holding your hand, feeling your skin,
Dreams and fantasy start to begin
Taking over my striking thoughts
Even if you're far away,
Your words stand up, living,
Singing the most beautiful chords.

If there is a way,
To maybe one day,
Get to look you straight into the eyes,
Shattering thousands of miles,
Then I'm more than excited for this moment,
To finally say those three honest words, I've always meant.

I see you and I do not want anything more
Than showing you my true love, that I am very thankful for.
Holding your hand, seeing your smile,
Is the dream that keeps me, my heartbeat and all that is in me, alive.

Part IV, Us

With every step we take,
We're tickling different feelings awake,
Different thoughts, different energy.
Our future, our love,
All that counts,
Is You and Me.
