I must be nuts, strapped into this steel coffin of
a rocket-powered plane. Just been dropped out out of the bomb-bay of
the mother bird. Here I go, though God knows where, pressing the red
ignition button. Blam. Slammed back into seat, guts being squeezed to
backbone. Brings the nose up as I shake through the Sound Barrier.
Soaring up, up into the very deep blue of near space, faster and
higher than anybody before. YEEHAWWWW!!! Silence as the fuel runs
out. This thing glides like a brick, just as well I have a dried lake
to land on. YEEHAWWWWW!
