I once had a
friend who
Loved wearing
a blue hat
Amazing was
her soul, she was
The best
friend I ever had
To the same
primary school we went
Together we
played ball
And in the
class, separate we sat
We didn't
mind at all
On weekends,
we always met
to walk Spike
the little dog
Then off to
old Tom’s farm we went
to ride
horses all day long
Aunt Mary,
bless her soul, she was
The best aunt
in the town
She used to
bake cookies for us
Before Saturday's
sun was down
|
My friend had
to move one day
With her
family she went west
Alone I went
to school that day
And sat right
on her desk
We kept
writing to each other, but
Still it was not
the same
Sweet Marry
died that year, and
Old Tom’s farm
went to flames
On weekends I
stayed home and
Think of her
was all I did
no horses,
nor cookies were left
and my
dreams, West the slid
I have my
friends now, her own she has
But no one
will take her place
We took an
oath, again we'll meet
And bring
back the good old days
