"Take my hand",

You pulled me up.

You said, "Take a stand,

don't ever give up.

Take a chance,

what's there to lose.

Live your life,

don't be a fool."

Tell me why,

it should end that way.

Tell me how,

it's better that way.

Can't you see

I'm fond of you,

and wherever you go

I want to be with you.

I really love you,

and i miss you too.

I'm trying my best

to be just like you.

To make you proud of me

Cause maybe if you are

You won't leave me

I hate to be so far from you

I hate to not be able to protect you

I hate that I know you miss us so much

and I hope that you know we miss you just as much.

So take my hand

I'll pull you up

Just like you did

The message of having a strong bond and friendship shines through clearly in this piece. I like the way you show the speaker's progression by having her need help at first, then having her offer help at the end ... it helps bring the story full-circle. I also like how this piece portrays the strength of love without necessarily being romantic ... that's almost a rarity.
