When I die Don't cry for me That's the last thing I want you to do When I die Just smile and move on That's life.what else can you do I'll be right there, On the other side waiting for you And I'll look after you Cause I love you and I promise you that I'll look after you And it'll be okay You'll live and forget it someday But I'll still be there to hold your hand When you feel that it is dark, when you feel that you're all alone I'll be there standing next to you And I'll always be the one who believes in you Cause you deserve that, and quite more too I gave a promise to look after you And I will keep it cause nothing matters to me more than you.
This is a sad one for me, primarily because it deals with sharing a bond after death ~ an idea which I've always found depressing but somewhat comforting. My thoughts on death are similar to those expressed in this poem ... I don't want anyone to cry when I die, but at the same time, I know it will happen. I hope others can think of me and find solace in memories ... I think that's the best I can wish for.
Thank you for posting this. It was a thought-provoking and emotional write ... just perfect for my mellow mood right now.

I've always wanted to be the one remembered after death. If not by all, then by those who I include in my life.
This was a relatable enough read for me. Sad, too because I think most of us feel what you have described.
Nicely penned, Cara!

Very sad very unselfish. Death is one of the hardest things to write about, but we cannot avoid.
your speaker seems to be very optimistic, brave, and caring.

Soft, gentle and strong words for love and concern.
"You'll live and forget it someday
But I'll still be there to hold your hand
When you feel that it is dark, when you feel that you're all alone
I'll be there standing next to you "
I liked the above lines. Thank you Cara for sharing the excellent poetry.
