what to say

what to say

A Poem by Cara

What can I say when they ask me about you

Should I tell a lie, or just lay down the truth

I wish they would believe me when I tell them about your beautiful sky of blue

Or your amazing gardens and what they were able to

About your kind people and the means one too

What can I say when they ask me about you

Oh what can I do??

Conflict clouds the wonders of a nation. We have seen it in Sri Lanka, Iraq and other places. The consequence of war is that it becomes the identity of a land instead of the real characteristics that make it a wonderful place. You captured this thought marvelously and I salute you for your sense of a soulful connection to the land of your birth.

Tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
It might be a sad truth but never an assad lie.

I couldn't really gather what the message was behind it, but it sure had me pondering what I thought it could be. I actually saw it from two different perspectives. One, you're talking about God. Though I started to re-read the second line with my thought and it didn't make great sense. Unless, you were somehow denying him. Second, this is about a guy that you like so much and you want to tell the truth that you have great feelings lying within your heart. If that's the case, check the song "The Truth" by: Jason Aldean. If you're not really a big country fan, then you don't have to listen to it at all. The lyrics sound just like the first two lines of your poem that's why I recommend the wonderful song of his. I advise you to tell the truth. Life's too short to ponder on if you should. Your chance then would be ruined and gone; leaving you with a lot of tears being shedded! When someone asks you about him, tell the truth and do it proudly. When you like someone, don't feel ashamed that you have to hide it with a lie that'll one day be uncovered anyways. You done an excellent job conveying your feelings in such a way! The emotions so raw and down-to-earth made it so relatable! :)
