A Poem by Pól
"

Initial thoughts, will tidy later

"

Blocked

again

that familiar refrain

of the gibbering human washing machine;

"As jober as a sudge"

one foot in front of t'other

trying in vain

to link feet and brain

touching either side of the street

slipping and swaying

a rickety bridge

connecting shore and island

intrepid travellers fear to cross

before crashing

burning

wailing

"take me drunk I'm home"
